Got to the beach about 8:00am (didn't hear my alarm). I fished until about noon for 6 short butts by rod and reel and 1 short butt by hand. That's right......by hand. I was getting ready to cast out, and right in front of me, I see a bunch of bait fish on a mad dash towards the beach I guess this little 12' halibut was so intent on catching a snack he forgot where he was because he swam right up onto the beach and parked himself right next to me. I gave him a helping hand to find his way back to where he came from. By the way I had a ton of short bites fishing the plastic...... any suggestions on how to improve the percentage a little bit? Thanks
