#2621, "San Diego jam knot"

Rob recently recommended the San Diego jam knot for fluorocarbon. Preparing for my my August norcal saltwater trip I just tied my first ever San Diego jam knots for my fluorocarbon leaders and found this knot to be very easy to tie, and testing very strong (in my garage at least).

On mono I usually use the Trilene knot because this has been the only knot that I am good at tieing while bouncing around in a heavy sea. I have found the Trilene knot to be very reliable for me on mono (but I do not use it on braid). I have two questions.

First, because I have now proven to myself that I can easily tie an apparently strong San Diego jam knot and also easily tie a Trilene knot, does anyone have any information about which knot is stronger for mono? Second, would the San Diego jam knot be improved by running the line through the eye twice?

I can do some break tests at home regarding these questions, but I would also like to know if anyone has any experience or any information about these two knots for mono.

Bob
