I've caught quite a few cr/bait, spinnerbait, and topwater Bass with my favorite rod, the Kistler Helium 7', Medium Casting model(HE70MC). I've landed lightly-hooked Bass because of that rod IMO. Its sensitivity allows for me to tell the difference between a light bite and a hitting a piece of wood. Matched with a Daiwa TDZ, the whole rig weighs about 10 ounces.
