At the Fin and Feather board meeting last night there were two representatives from the Palmdale water board. They made the statement that it has been confirmed by the Metropolitan Water District that Diamond Valley Lake has quaggas in it. If this is true why stop pumping in water from the river?

I was told (by a separate source) that the Metropolitan Water District was working on connecting DVL to the California aqueduct and that once that is completed the lake would begin to take in water from that source.

This brings up another issue that confused me last night. We asked the Palmdale Water Board what good was it to go through such drastic measures for the members of Palmdale Lake when aqueduct water is still the main water source which is probably where the quaggas will come in from. The board answered with “There have been no quaggas found in the aqueduct only DNA”. Can someone please tell me how there is quagga dna in the aqueduct without there being any quaggas?

If there is quagga dna in the California aqueduct why would DVL spend so much time and money to connect the lake to another containinated source?

Is it just me or do other people see money being wasted on prevention of the inevitable?

It’s my opinion that any lake connected to any of the aqueducts will be infected in due time.

Oh and by the way F&F will be doing a 10 day quarantine on clean and dry boats and 28 days if you fail.
