#2373, "Castaic - where are the stripers?"

Met my cousin and his buddy Ed up at Castaic Sunday morning to get in on the striper action. Saturday morning they were boiling so hard on the shad that if you stood too close to the bank your feet would get wet from them slamming the shad.

When we got there things looked pretty bleak. No bait, no boils. Worked pretty hard for 3 decent sized (18-20 inch) largemouth but no stripers.

All the bass were caught on Hopkins spoons.

Next time!
