Called Brian yesterday to see if he wanted to go to Casitas today, only to find out that he was already up at Cachuma. So I cruised up at around 2:30 I guess it was. When I got there Brian had already got a limit and Daniel had 2. I think they started at around 11. We went over to the Mianus region (entrance to the narrows) and I spotted a nice lookin bedfish. I threw a chartreuse big hammer at it which really pissed it off good. Now, despite my finding the fish, and my working the fish, Daniel had the audacity to catch it on a white jig. That bastard. It was about 3lbs. We fished around that area some more and I think Brian picked up a couple smallmouth. We ran over to the backside of the island only to find a lot of non-committed fish. The wind also started to pick up which made it tough to sight fish, so we blasted up to Johnson. On the windy, yet sunny side of the cove Brian managed to catch another bedfish of about 2lbs. In that same little cut we saw a nicer sized bedfish that wasn't too committed. We had agreed that the next bedfish would be mine, since these little pricks kept stealing my fish, but nonetheless, Brian pitched his worm at it and even though it wasn't locked on at all, it was angry at the world and bit Brian's worm off of his hook. We backed off, and noted that the fish was nowhere near locked on and would spook very easily but when it came back, it would attack just about anything that was in front of it. It cruised off and didn't come back for awhile and just as we were about to leave I stuck it. This one was probably 3 and change. Short but fat. Looked like a 4 in the water. We continued down into Johnson and wasted a lot of time on one fish that was the same sort of deal, which Daniel claimed for himself, but couldn't catch. By this time it was getting dark so Brian threw a spook and I threw a buzzbait to finish out the day. No takers on topwater. Brian ended up with 10 fish, Daniel had 3 and I had my single bedfish. I also messed around with the Osprey, Generic Trout, Castaic baby bluegill, brush hog, and the jig.
