#4365, "Jenks Lake 6-9-02"

After I got out of work at 3, I decided I to go fishing at Jenks Lake, by the time I got home and asked if my parents wanted to go, as well as the little girl next door(who is 8), it was 3:30, and by the time we reached the lake it was 4. It started off slow with a few hits, then my neighbor Helen hooked up with the first fish. It was a 1 pound trout, and she was happy. She had baited her own hook, threw it out to her spot, took the fish off the hook, and then put it on the stringer by herself. I left her and my parents at the pier and went to the opposite side where I found a good sized school. I was split-shoting Orange and White power worms and was get hit constantly. By the time I was done I had released 11 and kept 4. The four I kept, Helen had wanted to take the hook off and put it on the stringer, and I couldn't say no. I think I have a new fishing buddy now!

Tight Lines,
Jason Huckeba
