Late report 21-23......

Headed out last Sat morning with woodchucker and caught up with the storm that was just going through SoCal.On the road it rained off and on and there was snow on the mountains through most of the passes, cold storm.

Saturday was drizzly and cold but NO WIND,wish we would have known that was going to be our best weather of the weekend.Would have charged it hard all day.But fished the general area around the marina for no action at all, just saw alot of carp finning along the surface in big groups(spawning?).Had a couple carp follow my slammer but that's it.No luck that night either, wind started picking up.

Woke up Sunday to alot more wind, all day.Did'nt even try launching the yaks, just hit up some points that were in walking distance with nothing.Waited for the wind to die down and launched off in the yaks about 8 or so that night.Paddled up river towards some fishy looking structure about 2 miles away. That was the only place we really marked some good fish on humps and off drop offs in deep water but still no action. The wind still was blowing pretty good and made trolling like i would want to almost impossible.I can only imagine what my plug looked like behind me in the water, probably looked like a retarted trout and the stripers felt sorry for it and left it alone ;-)

Monday morning more stinking wind so slept in a little bit and packed up.We probably missed the good action and weather by a day or so.Allan Cole and Ryan Webb still had there names on the dry erase board from the 18th when they weighed in 8 fish or so from 44 to 11 pounds. They were there right before the storm and from what the people in the local store said, they scored most of them at night. We also saw a few schools of trout in the marina area just swimming in circles, waiting for there turn to be picked off.

Another disappointing trip to the river, learn a little bit more each time and we'll be back!!
