#14953, "Legal issue about bait...."

I hav regarding the legal issues of a certain bait, anyone who has ever owned a young snake, a large lizard, or rodents/mice knows what a "pinkie" is. If not, It's a young mouse or rat, that has yet to grow it's hair, and well, it's pink. A co-worker of mine told me that he's used pinkie rats to land some BIG catfish, 12 pounds plus. I brought up the fact that I thought this particular bait was illegal, his argument was that it was not because this was no game species or anything, it was something that was sold for animal food. Now you could buy these and take them home and feed them to your fish(if you own a species that will eat them)but is it legal to use them in catching fish? Personally I wouldn't be too interested in using them for bait, I'd rather feed them to my snakes. Just trying to clear the air...
