#152, "They weren't deep at Margarita"

Tried Margarita on Sunday for a couple of hours. After $1,200 in repairs with my outdrive and a new Lowrance X-75 on board, my buddy Bruce & I shot out to see what we could catch. Needless to say, we caught some sun, but that was about it. <BR>We began drifting around the island in Salsipuedas Bay near 10:30am, but no one was home. Since the bracket isn't finished yet to mount my trolling motor, we were at the mercy of the breeze on the lake that day. The good news was the breeze allowed us to drift diagonally, heading towards the narrows. As we drifted into the main channel, the breeze stopped about 100 feet from the no wake zone and we were flotaing right on the east edge of the channel. There was some nice structure under there, but that was about it. After about an hour we moved into the narrows, but very little was going on there. Although we didn't find where the bad boys were, it's always nice to float around at Margarita. It was also good to see my new X-75 works well, even at higher speeds and the work done to my outdrive is now ready for future adventures.
