#407, "September 16, 2000 San Pablo Res."

Back to San Pablo today for an all day trip with Ryan T. We came ready for the big bass but things were not quite to be (although we had fun). We started out right around the marina and I caught 3 real quick on a 5/8oz proline jig black/red. They were all about 12 inches though, not quite the monsters we were after. We checked the shallow end of the lake for nothing before working our way up the lake. I caught two more on the jig one about 14incher and the other one another 12incher. Hmmmm... Threw the slammer quite a bit for no lovin until around noon up by the dam I had an 8 chase it up and a few casts later had a boil on it, but the fish didn't hit the plug. After that, whew, we fished all over until finally finding some more fish on a windy point where we both picked up 2 more dink 12 inchers on jigs. So they were biting a little but they were little, so it was only so fun. We fished from 10am to 4pm and called it a day. I think the backside of the full moon, with sunny skies, and little wind made it tough.
