If your fishing the drop shot with a little nose hook, DONT SET THE HOOK when you get bit. Just reel the fish on and then sweep your rod tip to turn their heads. That will be plenty enough force to pull them off the rocks. Plus, you dont want to risk that initial shock of the hookset breaking the 6lb and lighter line. If your rigging the worm weedless on the drop shot, then you might want to give enough hookset to get the hook through the plastic like a normal texas rig.But, everyone has their own style, this is just coming form 12 years of tournament experience and 4 Angler of the Year Titles.
