Fished from 6am-2pm. Spent most of my efforts thoroughly working Zuniga jetty. I’m totally intrigued by the calicos on there right now. They are there, but I can’t get them to commit. I learned A LOT today. I would find areas of fish and they would bite but they wouldn’t hang on. I was working a big jig and a little finess jig. Nothing was really working. Of course I tried other lures too. I finally started catching better fish by using a softer tail. The softness got em to hang on just enough.

I got this guy after switching tails. They would bite it once then, I would jig it, and they would bite it again. This was my biggest caleekmo.

Slow to grow, so chew them slow.

I discovered a hole that was 33’ right on the jetty. It was packed with 14-15” sandies. I was alternating between a Spinbomb and a 5” swimbait. I was catching bass on almost every cast. I quickly put 5 of those bad boys on the ice and my grocery shopping was done for the day. 4 and 20 sandbass baked in a pie.

I eventually went inside and started catching fish regularly. I jumped back and forth between the Barges and the uprights.

I named this one Annabella, and whispered in his ear, “But I like candy when it’s wrapped in a sweater.”

Sandbass are literally a dime a dozen right now.

The only challenge is trying to find a bigger one.

Barely legal hali, released, I don’t do barley legals.

Parvati and me Lord, were pretty good company.

Getting low on time,…I went over to the bait barge to rack up the score.

Living on jigs, vitamin C, and sandbass,….

Ended up with 5 calicos, some sculpin, some cuda, some bonito, and at least 25 sandies
