Sorry it took so long to augment Forktail's report, it was a rough return to reality! The Phoenix did me justice with a small load, great crew, and a captain who put us on fish despite the scratch conditions. A huge thanks to Forktail for inadvertantly lending me his superior 10 lb outfit to land that tuna, what a fight! I was hoping for a jig or swimbait fish, but all the honors went to a father and son team that slayed a couple on the iron. It was my first overnighter, so I can't compare the Phoenix to another boat, but it seems like the Phoenix is a fisherman's boat. Yeah, the galley is a little small(but served its purpose), the engines are a little loud(so drink more beer)...but I'm there to fish, so I'm definitely taking the Phoenix out again.
