yesterdays report. hit the bay again after work for another steady pick at the bass, after the fourth one while walking north i noticed some birds and bait south of where i was had to squint a bit (going blind here) to notice bayby macks / smelt clearing the surface, i ran down and began casting, for about 6 casts straight it was a solid hit, farmed four out of those 6 (not pinching the barb on my hooks again) one of those peeled drag hard but dropped it fast too. the kicker was after one of those farm jobs while retrieving my jig i started looking for it in the water to see if it was still swimming straight when in about 14" of water i see it disapear in a cloud of sand and a huge white/gray tail sticking out, it peeled drag stong in semi long increments taking me deeper and deeper, till the jig popped. CRAP! i sure wish i could had taken a good look at the culprit beached but the take was sure a treat got some more bass and a 6" mackerel (that in retrospect i should had rigged up and casted it out
