Launch and Return: Huntington Harbor, 9pm-2am
Totals: 1 short sand bass, 4 or 5 missed fish, lots of shortbiters
Plastics: fished everything from 9" grubs and zippershads to dropshotting 3" grubs (a smoke multi-flake got the short) and zippers, 4" jerkbaits and paddletails
Spinnerbaits: threw a 1/2oz with twin bronze willows, black/red/orange/white head with a really mixed up skirt, and a reeper trailer. 1 short bite
Scent: Tried S.J. Pro in crawfish, Pro-cure chovie oil, and S.J. anise, and a home brew
Conditions: High 50's at launch with little wind. around 11pm the wind (WNW) kicked up and it got cold, backed down around 12 and got even colder (maybe 45º). Tide was weak for a decent swing, temp about 58º, clarity was was a nice light stain.
Special Comments: Fished a mud bank with a nice little drop-off, lots of bait getting pushed onto the shelf. Tried it all, but could only get short bit. Probably a bunch of small sandies, smelt and/or croakers. Hoped for a halibut, got jack, and not smelt.
Areas fished: Launched from a parking lot at the end of Edinger (turn left just before the bridge leading to the HP and launch ramp. Worked that channel, the main channel, and the channel where the HP dock is.
