#11419, "Fifth Street in Oxnard surfishing 1-31-04"

Location: Surf beach in Oxnard.

Time: 11:20am- 12:45am.

Bait: Plastic Grubs in 1" and 1 1/2" Motor Oil/Red flakes.

Summay: Went surfishing at Fifth street With my basic set up of Caolina rig of a 3/4 oz egg sinker,Red Bead, #7 swivel, 1/2 foot leader, and # 6 hook baitholdier. The waves were pretty bad moving the rig toward the left. However, I met up with a guy who fishes there from time. He was telling that he caught two corbina in the 22" and 24" range. Wow,So I ask him what he was doing to get the grub at bottom. He said cast out and let it sit for a moment and then reel in slow almost any turns. And sure that was the ticket. I caught a a 7" and 10" Barred Perch. I wound have stay longier but my gf kids were getting cold. Well that it for now. Happy fishing. Sorry I have to load up pic later.
