Well, fishing was good. The boat crowd was fairly light. 18 anglers. Weather was awesome.
The landing reports that everyone caught there limit. I would have to disagree. I met this kid who only bagged 8 rockies. Another I saw whom did catch some rockies but I don't think he caught his limit because I would notice many times he had macks on his line. He was either fishing with macks for a killer ling or that was just what he was catching.
Live chovies did better than squid strips. Shrimp/fly hooks helped me. Blue/white & Red/yellow were good for me. Although, it probably did not really matter.
We went for sculpin at the end of the trip for 45 min. A yellow colored lead/head hook baited with Mackeral/squid strips above a dropper sinker of 6 oz. caught a quick limit for some chick. Fished off the bottom (1 crank off, at the most).

Total catch of the day:
5 Vermilion Rockfish
4 Jonnie Bass
4 Sculpin
1 Sand Dab
1 Mackeral (released into bait tank)
1 Vermilion Rockfish (small fry) given away
