#12707, "Surf Fishing for Hali's with Assalt Baits"

Hello everyone,
This is the first time to this site, so I am gonna post. (I am usually on another site, when I am not travelling)

Fishing report:
Out going tide @ 3:00 pm
BAIT: Hammer Swim Baits and Assalt Baits
Gear: 7 foot, light tackle, 6lb line

I have been trying to target Hali's with only plastic swim baits and have had some GREAT luck with Hammers. Lately there have been TONS of weeds in the water, so using a Hammer has been close to impossible. I use a very slow retrieve, so I get alot of weeds.

BUT, I have found that using Assalt 5" Ringer worm baits, in particular the Pearl color, works AMAZINGLY GREAT! AND no weeds. Use the Texas Rig method with a 1/2 oz bullet weight, 2/0 offset shank worm hook and a slow retrieve (3 cranks, pause) and BAM! You are hooked up!
