#13173, "Another bassing day at Newport Bay"

My nephew Shadow and I went back to fish the same spot my cousin and I did on Wednesday. This morning the current was really ripping. I tried throwing the 3" Big Hammers with 3/8 ounce head but the weight of the jig wont stay on the bottom. So I had to use 4" Big Hammers with 1/2 ounce lead head and throw it up to let it come down with the current. We had to really kick our a$$ off just to slow down so we could fish. Eventually we got tired and we each picked a mooring and tied ourself to it. A buddy of mine also came out and fished with us. We still had multiple doubles and I believe we even had a triple. We had lots of short bites and quick releases today, probably double the amount we caught. The bigger models seem to be in close to the docks and shallower water. There are more basses caught away from the docks but are smaller.

Todays total for the 3 of us.
Me:
17 spotties

Shadow:
1 calico
3 sandies
7 spotties

Victor:
2 halis (21" and 22")
1 sandy (~18")
14-15 spotties
