I imagined a relaxing day on SD bay, drifting about with live sardines and catching multiple legal halibut. Maybe even get lucky and land a trophy halibut or sandbass. Oh, how very serene and peaceful. NOT!

Got a $20 bag of live dines and got to work. Work is exactly what it felt like to me. I could not find the fun. I could not find the love. I HATE circle hooks. Trying some new tricks to improve my hali counts. Just ain’t working for me. I just can’t get along with the live bait and circle hook game. The bait was great, kinda big but, that’s no problem for me. VERY healthy. I only had 2 die all day. I fished every single dine till it died. I got zero halibut and zero sandies. Fished from 7-1pm. Caught lot’s of spotties, sculpin, bonitos, and barracudas. Plenty of fish to go around, just not the ones I wanted. WHAAAAA! L
