Hey Gang! Just had to try out my new Curado 300! And decided with the somewhat less than spiffy forecast to fish the Santa Barbara/ Carpinteria coastline. I had my buddy John Yokayama along for the trip. It was to be a kick back day as we didn’t pull away from the dock till a little after 7:00am (late for me) We started out in front of the harbor working the 58-100ft stuff for not even a bite? After about an hour of that we ran down to Carpinteria to try horseshoe rock (45-65ft). We got there and the water was a degree warmer at 57degrees and a nice off green color water and to top it off we had smoking uphill current (preferred for that spot) and it was game on from the first cast! Before we knew it we had caught and released limits of mixed bass, then double limits, then triple! I kept thinking of going to check a few other spots, but I couldn’t bring myself to leave biters to look for more biters! Anyways we ended up caching and releasing 62 mixed legals to 4lbs before calling it quits at 1:30, all caught on 4,5,& 51/2in Big Hammers with the calico cocktail on them(color didn’t seem to matter). As for the new curado. Two words, Very Nice! ....Captain Larry
