I and a friend of mine want to go on a charter fishing trip. We live in the Oakland area looking to possibly go out of the Berkley marina. We’re looking to fish for halibut and cod/ling cod. Last time I went out of Berkley I felt somewhat ripped off we requested to do the halibut and cod pot lick on the phone and they said that was available but when we got there in the morning they said that they only do striper and halibut runs inside the bay. They also said that none of the boats out of Berkley marina were fishing the halibut and cod but when we returned to the dock we seen other boats cleaning cod and ling cod. I brought 2 buddies from work that had never been on a charter before and to be frank I felt embarrassed because the trip was nothing like what they had expected bringing in 2 20” stripers with 0 halibut for little over 100 bucks. It had been a while since I’ve used this service but I defiantly feel the quality of service has gone down now I don’t really want to use their charter service. I won’t name their service but I defiantly would like to explore other options. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
