#1871, "butterfly kayak report 4-4"

Fished a shad-rap from steps to the cemetary and all I caught was a beautiful sunset. Bait(surf-smelt) was doing it's evening boiling, a few pelicans were doing their thing.

the water has definatly seemed to change from last week. A week ago, it was BUTT cold! now i am trunking it while surfing. The water has a deep green/blue look to it, and if it wernt for this big NW swell that passed through, it would be really clear. Actually, that swell was pretty good for the viz, knocking all the silt that has accumulated on the kelp off and the currents have moved that brown, muddy water away.

We have a series of SW swells, the first hitting right now, that will push warmer water our way, as well as curing some of our fish of their lock-jaw. It looks like summer is knocking at our doorstep, guys, and I am ready!!!

Moondog out!
