Fished Santa Cruz and Anacapa Sunday with two good friends. Tried Chinese for the early Seabass bite, but had no luck (although the area looked great?). We did get a 20lb Halibut for our efforts though. Went around the corner and fished Yellow Banks for a few calico but nothing else. Went to fill the sacks with rockfish and did that in a hurry with a few of the larger lings and other assorted rockfish. Headed over to Capa hoping to find a late yellowtail bite... no yellows, but we did pick up a 20lb seabass and all the big barracuda you could ask for.
Final count:
2 seabass (1 short) 1 halibut lots of calico and barracuda lots of rockfish and lingcod a few rays to 250lbs (biggest ray I have ever seen)
All in all a perfect day on the water with calm seas, sunny skies and good friends.
