Hey guys, been using Vanish fluorocarbon fishing line pretty much exclusively for leaders because it works well at a reasonable price. Liked it for use as a leader but recently tried it out casting lures, hoping for a more stealthy presentation of the lures, especially for sight feeders like halibut. Well, the stuff fails miserably in the casting department. It kinks easily, has way too much memory, and is prone to backlash, even on a spinning reel.
Recently picked up some Cuda line that looks very promising. It's strong, limp and fluorocarbon coated. Has a light gray color and cost $9 for a 1/4lb spool. I'll give a report on the Cuda when I've used it enough to give an opinion. My question is, what line do you guys like for casting 3/8oz-1oz lures when targeting a finicky sight feeder?
