Launched kayaks at 730 with buds kyle and Mike. Made bait and headed north. Mike hooked up with several nice calicos - 3 at once while making bait actually. Then a short flattie on plastic. Water was clear (for once), so I slid over the side of my yak and managed to spear 4 'buts in about 40 minutes -22", 24", 26", and 27". Swam right over one that was about 3+ feet long and didn't even see it until it swam away (still kicking myself for not seeing it). It was AMAZING the amount of fish in the water up there. I probably saw 15 calico's over 5 lbs in the time I was in the water - just goes to show what it can be like in an area with no fishing pressure. Got back on the yak, stowed my fish and we headed out to deeper water where birds were working, caught some macks and flylined 'em in hopes of catching thresher sharks/wsb, but no joy there. All in all a killer day
