Launched with my dad at Topanga today at around 5:30 AM. We had just enough time to make a night dive but I wasn't feeling it because it was too cold. My dad got a limit of bugs though. I tried my luck with fishing until it got light because I noticed the phosphoresence had died off and it looked fishy. Nothing happening until it got light, I broke through with an 18" flattie. A couple of sandies there before I headed to the north end of the point. I scratched one 21" flattie there and then another one about 20" in a spot in around 25' where big halibut are known to hang out around this time of year. A few more smallish sandies with one about 3# back towards the launch area. Off of the water by 10. 3 shorts 7 sandies All fish C&R'd on a 5" Purple Haze Big Hammer, I was getting bit fairly well so I didnt change the plastic all day. It was somewhat sunny during parts of the day so a lighter color might have worked better. Tommy
