#8316, "Zuma Beach, Nov. 19th sunset"

My friend and I fell off a mountain trail at about 4:30, right by Zuma and decided to hit it. By the time we rigged up the sun was just disappearing and we fished the last light. Beach was beautiful. Even in the low light I was hip deep and could see my feet and the sand perfectly. Fished only for about 30 minutes, but Nat caught a big barred perch - bigger 'n any perchI've ever caught. About 2 pounds. Fat as hell, and looked pretty chill while we unhooked him. We had little trout rods, so he put up a good fight. Nat's first fish. And, anyway, the water was cool but the breeze must have been 85 degrees, it was lovely.

Anyone know if Zuma's gonna be hit by the Marine Reserve closures? Sad to think. I've never fished a lovelier beach in the area.

Oh - 1 1/2" motor oil Mojo grubs fished Carolina style, dog.
