After trying the swimbaits at UCSB I decided to go down to the harbor last night from 8-9pm. Fished the stretch of beach from the bait dock to the pier and hooked what I thought was a plastic bag. Turned out to be a 14" halibut that didn't even fight. Two casts later I hooked again what I thought was a plastic bag, thinking maybe it was another halibut. But indeed, this time it WAS a plastic bag. Guess thats what you get fishing in the harbor ;-) Just got the one halibut, 3" big hammer, 6lb test.
