Got back out to Castaic again this morning and man was the weather up! It was really blowin! Well...after waiting for the lake to open, the gal that handles the entry gate, had no key to get in. We had to wait an extra couple of minutes to get in and get started. Well...just like yesterday, we started off about 100yds from where the main ramp meets the dam and wouldn't you know it... I was getting followed almost immediately! There was a good mix of LM and Striper. The LM were probably in the 2-4lb class and the stripers were probably 5-10? No big ones like yesterday. Well...as it turns out, I never got any of them to actually eat the plug! I was excited about seeing all the fish but frustrated at the same time. It's tough up there right now. Not much happening but I think if I had a bit more time, I could have done something?

By the way...I picked up a handful of those MegaBait Charlie's! They are really good lookin in the water. The swim nice...they look good...and the fish were on it...they just wouldn't eat the thing! I had one LM boil on the thing twice without eating it! Crazy! Well...the folks at MegaBait did their homework! Even though it's a smallish size, it casts like a bullet and it seems to swim pretty good...and straight I might add. I would love to hear what you others think about them. I was rather impressed with getting followed and boiled on the first time I'm throwing it!

Well...there's another day in the books. I'm planning to get back out there next week when the DFG starts chumming...er...I mean stocking the trout again.
