#3193, "Trap Hook Rigging - Mono versus Braid for connection"

Is anyone fishing mono (say 100 lb.) versus braid between your lead treble and the trap treble on swimbaits such as Osprey's and Generic Trout?

Is there any disadvantage to using a mono leader connection versus braid? So far I can't tell any difference and the mono is much simpler to make without having to hassle with excess braid and paper clips. Also, the stiff mono re-aligns the trap hook under the bait again during the retrieve to allow a second chance. The spacing between the hooks is so close I can't see any difference in how these baits swim with the mono "stiff" rig versus the braid to trap hook.

Thanks for any insight.

Dave
