I have used these rods from the prototype stage. I have warmed up to the lighter rod (heavy) and find it exceptionally balanced. I fished 6 hours this morning and for 5 ½ hours I tossed the slammer. I would still be fishing but the ski boats ran me off. I started with the Lamaglass big bait stick and lost two fish. I switched to the Okuma heavy only because I had braid on it and wanted a stronger hook set. Not to be contrary to Mark (SWMB8ER) and Nico, and I am sure they are guiding you in the right direction, however I took four slammer fish with the Okuma this morning and for my style it worked just fine. I will mention I fished with Mark two weeks ago (one great fisherman), and he had a light action stick he took 9 or 10 slammer fish on and I do not remember him loosing a fish.

Hope I didn’t muddy up the water to bad. I will be back on the water tomorrow and will start off with the slammer/Okuma combo unless Mark wants to loan me his limber stick.
