UNBELIEVABLE TRIP! Our group of 6 flew down on a private charter flight from PHX and landed 10 minutes from the lodge. Upon arrival the staff greeted us at the front steps with margaritas & nachos. The service/food was better than any operation we have fished with. The boats, motors, & electronics worked great, and the fishing was outstanding! Although Baccarac is typically known as a giant fish lake, the numbers we experienced were seriously 80-120 per day with most being 2-6lbs, many between 6-8lbs, eight fish over 9lbs, and two over 12lbs. The topwater/popper bite was phenomenal in the morning and evening, while 8" lizzards and large worms in watermelon & green pumpkin variations worked very well for us the rest of the day. I racked up big numbers on 7.5" Gene Larew Komodo Dragon lizzards, 8" Zoom liz and a 9.5" Reaction Innovations worm. One boat in our group caught a 9.3 and 9.1 on a 3/4 oz. white/chart. spinnerbait, along with many other quality fish. Another group staying at the lodge caught 4 over 10 on large Zara Spooks (Chart. back & belly with clear sides). The surface temp was 83-85 degrees, so I think most of the big fish are still deeper or near deep water. The 12lb fish were caught in 25-30 ft on 8" watermelon Zoom lizzards. I had 2 fish snap 20lb XX strong P-line and 2 others break off 30lb Power Pro braid as they made off with 2 brand new $25 Rio Rico Poppers. I can't wait to return and seek my revenge!!!
