Got on the water just after 5am, and starting throwing the buzzbait, but it didn't feel right to me. I switched up to a spinner bait and picked up a quick small fish. I decided to tie on the spool because I wanted a slow topwater presentation, and on high tide I usually don't throw frogs a whole lot, I prefer spooks/pop-r. I threw the spool for about 20 minutes and nothing, switched up to a 7" senko and got a 4 pounder off of some tulies...nothing for about 15 more minutes. I switched back to the spook and the bite was on. I probably ended up with 25 fish on spooks on the day. I lost my best 3, probably all 3 were a little over 5 pounds each. I did get one frog fish on low tide (about 3 1/2 - 4 pounds). The bite was on all day, but was definitely better when the water was moving...slack tide was a little tough.
