It has been quite a while since I weighed in a dead fish. Hopefully saying so won't jinx me!

I use a sump pump dangling in the water to change out the old water for new. I do this at least every half hour, more if I have a full livewell or if it is hot. The pump moves enought water so it takes less than 3 minutes to completely change out the water. I usually run it for five minutes to be sure.

The biggest downside to this method is that the overflowing water makes noise; sounds like a waterfall! I have planned on adding a drain near the top for a long time but never seem to get around to it.

Question: when using floats I used to put them in the upper lip but found this tore the lip too easily. I now put the floats in the lower lip. It does not seem to have hurt the fish. Does anyone have any comments on this? I read swimbaits comments, just looking for more feedback.
