Hello Bankpounder, welcome to the N.C.Float Tube / Kick boat forum.

Honestly your a big boy :) plus the weight of your gear.
A kick boat may be your best choice.
Allot of the guys like the Versa Vessels from Outdoor Engineering.
They ride high out of the water. They have a weight cap. 375#s
Check into their 8-10ft models these might be the better way to go.

Tell you what (A world of differnce than fishing from shore)
CAUTION you might really enjoy fishing from a float craft :D
