Hello everyone from Hit, Iraq... Well, not much more to report here, it's still the desert, and its still hot. We saw some action today, (firefight), we were in support of operations here. I have never had to put a person in my sites before, and it was equally intense pulling the trigger. Over here, it's kill or be killed, I know that I am in the Armed forces, however, as a corpsman, never thought that I'd have to take another persons life. Iraquis do not hold human life in high asteeme as we do in the US. Women are not traeted as human beings, rather they are treated with distain and disrespect by their own families. We lost a marine to a mine 2 weeks ago, so, after-the-fact thoughts of what happened here today, I will never have a problem pulling the trigger anymore. I guess I crossed the line from reservist to active duty combat "marine".
Things here are going to get busier as the US elections approach, and I don't particularly like to work (If I am working and doing my job, then that means people are hurt, but that is the nature of the beast, and my burden that I chose to carry. I hope all is well back in the real world of the United States, and am looking forward to comming home in 5 months.
I am safe, OK, and good to go.
Thank you all for all of your support.
Michael
