OK, fellow Sonomans, we have our 1st chance to provide input on the new Riverfront Park (aka the Gravel Pits). The public hearing is at 7 PM on 1/29/03 at the Permit & Resource Management Department at 2550 Ventura Ave. in Santa Rosa. They are planning on allowing non-motorized boating, but it's not clear from the report if that will include float tubing.

I know some folks in the SCBBBC would like to see some of the lakes managed for trophy bass, or catch-&-release only fishing, or have trout planted, etc. It would be great if some of us can make it to the meeting & throw in some of our ideas.

I'm sure we'll have other opportunities to provide input, & sitting thru some of these public hearings can be less than exciting, but this is a great chance to make our voices heard & benefit anglers for years to come.
