As andy said you need to be a little careful....but if you plan it right and ride the tide in or out, then back the other direction, that is the best bet. Trapper Slough is great because there is no current, but I haven't been there in a good year or so....a lot of fish, but I haven't got into anything over 5 in there, and very few over 3. Find some marinas and you should be able to do well right now without having to worry about tides much. I fished a tube out of middle river for quite a while and never had much of a problem as long as I timed it right. Good luck..
