That's a beaut' spotty! I've caught quite a few in Newport Bay. My best advice is to look for two things; the first is eel grass, the second is any boat that looks semi-neglected or worse. The more barnicles and moss, etc that has accumulated on the hull the better. They act like artificial reefs and often hold fish beneath them. Fish with the tide and let your swimbaits or grubs drift along at the same speed as the current in the bay. Stick to simple colors. Chartreuse or rootbeer for grubs and chartreuse & gold swimbaits worked best for me. Of course, that was a long time ago. There's probably something better now. ???
