Arranged some time with terry and dave with scbbbc for a little fishing at one of my lakes. We got out on the water around 6 30 and i headed straight out to a few bushes to do some flippin. When i finally got to the bushes dave gives a shout out that he has one. after a long fight he pulls out a 7-8 lber in a field of timber on a senko, i think it was reddish purplish color. So that was a good start to the day. About 2 minutes later after flipping my first bush and not gettin touched i flipped a couple feet to the right of it right on the edge of some hyacinth(i think) and went up to shake it and it was slack and all i got was a half ass hook set off. I pulled the fish up right away, got to see it roll and could see it was a nice fish, right after that it brushed against a limb and the hook allof the sudden went from in the fish to in the tree limb, so that got me down, the fish was in the 8-9 lb range. The next bush i flipped, nothing, then the next bush i flipped i got a 5 1/2 to go for my black w/ blue flake tube. alright got situated and about 5 minutes later worked my way out to the end of a point of hyacinths. With the wind blowing across the point the backside should have been a prime spot, and it was. First flip, pulled another one out around 5, second flip 13 incher, 3rd flip 7-8 lber. All on the same black blue tube and 3/8 oz. pegged sinker. moved past the point to flip a few more bushes. that didn't produce anything so i headed back to meet up with dave and right when i got to him he pulled a 3 off the same point on the senko again. Terry was fishin behind both of us flippin a beaver but hadnt picked up anything yet. Once the wind died and the sun started setting the flip bite was over. Switched to a buzzbait and caught a dink the first cast, nothing after that. started heading in and switched over to a chartreuse spinnerbait. Threw over to an isolated bush, bumped a stick and wham, 2 lber. Right before that terry hooked up in the Timber on a spinnerbait and landed one around 3. We decided to call it a day at about 9 30 and get some pictures. Not to bad of a day with the time we had, the results went something like this, 9 lber hooked but not landed, 2 7-8lb fish, 2 5lbers, 2 3lbers, 1 2lber and a 1lber. I was able to put together a limit right around 20 lbs with the lost fish that would have knocked it up around 28ish. will post pics asap.
