Well, since you have to buy from Cabela's, we won't hound you about the Versa Vessel :P
Do a search. There are a few guys that either still own or have owned the 916 in the past. The guys that don't own them anymore didn't get rid of them because there was anything wrong with them. They upgraded to the V.V. The guys that own them like them.
As far as the panther, I think the low profile is a negative. Unless you're fishing only for trout on river systems. Because it sits so close to the water, the amount of gear you can put on it will be very limited. Adding a livewell is out of the question. The weight alone that far to the rear would sink the back end of it.
The aluminum frame is a big plus. Especially if you are going to have to lug your boat around. Steel frames are heavy.
