I took my boat to Haiwee Resorvior on Saturday. It was only 34* outside at 6:30 am. Brrrrrr....

Thought I would fish the shore for a while till it warmed up a bit. On about my 5th cast I landed a nice little 2.8 smallie. It was just fat, only about 14 or 15 inches. Caught it on the drop shot. Went ahead and got the boat ready and got on the water at about 7:15. Water was 46*. It warmed up to 56* by 1:30.

Caught lm and smallies all day. Every fish was right at or over 2 lbs with a couple of 3's and 4's mixed in. That's pretty good for this little place. It's pretty stingy considering it doesn't get any pressure x(

Fish had all been coming on the blade or senko for lm and crank or drop shot for smallies. Made my way to some dead tullies and picked up the flip stick. Had a Woodsac Reaper tied on. Some of the dead tullies were laying in the water and had some extra silty stuff under them creating a darker area? Wasn't sure what this was about, but I found a pattern with it. Pulled out a couple nice green guys. By the now the wind was blowing pretty hard but I saw one nice looking clump of those tullies. Flipped the reaper and fish on. Not much of a fight at 1st, but when she saw my boat she took off. I got a glimpse and knew it was nice :o Finally got her into the net...7 lbs 2 oz

Not a giant, but it's my biggest so far :D I've lost several fish around the same size, so it was nice to finally get my hands on one. She was about ready to POP!!! I let her go about 50 ft from where I caught her, and she headed right back :-)
