#31159, "Report - Yesterday with Bobby Barrack"

Had a great time with Bobby Barrack and now have a new Personal Best for Strippers, 9+ pounds. Bobby got a photo of it and I have left a message to have him email it if he can.

Had the 9 pounder about fifteen min. into the morning, and thought here we go! Yahoo, but it was a tough day. No Wind! Baby Blue Skies with no clouds! Bummer!

Spook’s are the word for those Stripers, Walking and wham! Probably landed over a dozen 2-4 pounders for the day. I did get a couple of good blow-ups on the spook but no Pigs this trip. One really big one too but no hooking it, darn it!

We walked the Spook, and used rip baits for the Stripers. So if you are looking for Stripers out of the Franks Track area (Bethel Island) that is what I suggest. First time I have ever used one and can’t wait to get a couple for my bag.

Got to Frog with Bobby, but unfortunately, nothing on the frog. Even Bobby could not entice them to hit! Flipped some Green Magic Big Beavers, boy you should see Bobby’s hook set, but only one for Bobby, none Flipping for me. I did get one blow up in such thick stuff that I could hardly get it up to the top and once pulling out of the crud no fish and a heck of a weed fish.

Did get one 8” Margarita Mutilator drop shot fish but that was it for that bait. No wind so we did not even think of throwing a blade.

Was supposed to be a eight (8) hour trip from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM but Bobby was nice enough to give it all he has and kept me out till dark (real dark) and returned about 6:00 PM.

Those last light minuets we went from spot to spot, couple of blow-ups on the Spook but nothing. To say the least Bobby was not happy with the results for the day!

Man, if you ever get a chance and can budget for it I HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking a trip with Bobby Barrack! Great Guy and taught me lots and fun to fish with! His boat hauls butt too! First time I had been on a BASS boat! Gotta watch that fever to get one myself!

Thanks John Lake, BNT and especially Bobby for trying so hard to put me onto a Pig! The Stripper was really cool, caught fish and had an outstanding time!

For those of you that will be joining the group of us going to the Bassmaster University (see earlier post) in January, Bobby will be there teaching too!

Also be sure to visit his Back To Class Guide Service web site at http://www.bobbybarrack.com and tell him the YO-YO guy sent you.

Yes, I did give him a Tiger Shark YO-YO. Seemed only fitting!

See everyone that made it to the SCBBBC TOC Saturday for my BBQ I am doing for you!

John
