First off, thanks to Paul for running another great 2-day tourny. Robbie and CZ, you kept the pressure on. Mark, that fish speaks for itself.Heres a quick breakdown:

Saturday I started the day by throwing cranks and rips, working really fast towards the mainlake. With the weather being so cold for March, I decided to slow down on the the first main point and see how the fish are eating and how aggressive they are. Couple of casts later, I pick up a 2+ Largehead on a 3.5 inch green pumpkin tube. Sweet. I figured there would be a few more Largeheads coming up to feed on this particular point throughout the day so I decided to sit on it for hours. I ended up getting a limit on the tube and one on a 1 oz. blade. weighed 8.78 for day one, good for second place...During weigh-ins that day, Big Paul "Rocky" Rockwell weighed in 4 nice lookin smallies and at that point I thought to myself, "those look like fun". So day two, all I wanted to do was look for smallmoufs.

Sunday was fun. I joined Robbie rubout Linden and Chris Zelenka on a row and a half to Spanish Flat Resort. We had a blast, the three of us caught plenty of fish and you know its always a good time when there is competition involved. So there we were, in a protected cove, giving each other space and every now and then hearing the surface break, "fish on", you would think those smallies had wings the way they jumped :o . I caught all my fish on sunday on the tube and my biggest smallie and Largehead came on a 3/8 oz. brn/org jig. I concentrated on secondary points and fished from 15 ft. on up. The key to catching the smallies on that particular day was definately the rock bottom(near shallow, spawning areas). The sun was shining, heating up the rock, attracting the poop out of the smallmouth and making them vulnerable for a kickboater like myself.say cheese :7
