I suppose I can say that last Saturday was a fitting end to the first year of Bass-n-Tubes Central Region. Being in its infant stages, the Central region has plenty of possibilities, with great lakes to fish for the Bass-n-tubes organization. We have had a hard time drawing anglers this year, which was surprising to me, But I am confident that there is other kickboaters, floattubers and Yak'rs around here that can add to a great region as this. I want to take a minute to thank a few that have fished the Central Region: Everybody that came down to start it all off with the two day event at Naci, that was a good one with a giant spot (4.62)caught by Nick Wong.Jeff Smith was at San Antonio Lake and ended up winning that one. Scott Rouhier, Mark Goodrich, and Jeff Goodrich made it down for more then one, Mark won the Naci night event in August with an impressive sack of spots. Scott, Mark and Jeff were at Lake Lopez last Saturday. Sorry it wasn't better fishing guys! Casey Langley is the other local guy that is always there for the Central Region. He continues to introduce others to our events. He has been (as always) very consistant this year. This is why he is the Central Region AOY. Finally I have to give a BIG Thanks to Paul & Mitch for all that you guys do for us Bass-n-tubers....

Oh, yeah....Last Saturday at Lopez the bite was off, but I ended up catching two keepers on this one point early in the morning using a brown jig I made. The rest of the day I went on to catch a bunch of dinks. As I made my way back to the launch site that afternoon I thought for sure the guys I was fishing against had some bags to compete with. When Scott said everybody blanked, I was way surprised....as I said, it is a fitting end to this year with my first, 1st!
