Paul,
How are they going to be used? Can't beat Motorola, but they are the priciest. However, you can get lots of snazzy features. I'm not convinced that each feature has a truly needed benefit. Right now Costco is selling a Cobra (I think) set that has all the basic features plus the rechargable batteries and a recharging stand, all for around $79 for TWO!
I have some cheap ones now that I use while fishing. If whomever I'm fishing with wants to communicate and if I remember to take them out of the truck. I also have the Motorola 250 with the additional 38 privacy codes. That feature helps a bunch. The 250 costs around $79 for one. If I were in the market today, I'd get the ones at Costco. I'm pretty sure they have 14 ch and 38 codes. Great deal but I'm just not sure of the brand, but I do remember it is a 'good' brand.
If you're the type who wants the best, Motorola is what you want.
