OK So I met Steve at MR just before 5:30 Saturday morning so we could ride the tide all day. Low tide was 1.1 feet at 5am and it was supposed to turn at around 10:30 at 3.4 feet. Pretty much a perfect tide for us lazy old men!
We started fishing at the barrier right around 6 and it wasn't long before I had my first blow up on a frog. Had a limit in the first 45 minutes and caught a bunch of fish in the first few hours with the biggest around 4 and some 2's and 3's in the mix. The bite slowed for a couple hours as the tide topped out. We had fished to the second island above the Tracy Blvd. bridge when we turned to make our way back around 11:30. Once the water got moving they started to eat the frog again, but not as committed as in the AM when they were choking it down. Missed a few blow ups and farmed a couple of hook ups throughout the day. Don't know how many blow ups I had, but I could have brought one rod as they ate the frog for me all day. I did catch one blade fish in the afternoon. Ended the day at 2:30 with a limit for 15-16 pounds. Good day on the river!
