#1289, "thoughts on the Save Phace masks?"

I got one back in the early spring, and have only used it a few times. I think the idea is great....but I've been a little disappointed in the overall performance of the mask. Well, actually, I just have had bad lenses that just spider web and get all foggy and messed up after one use. The anti-fog stuff gets all cloudy and is like you have crumpled up plastic wrap on your lense, and you can't see out it. I called them, and they had excellent customer service, and sent me out new lenses...but I think I've gone thru like 3 lenses now, and they all last all of one or two boat runs. If they get wet or foggy or anything, they just go to hell. Way too fickle to take seriously.

Just wondering if anyone knows if they've gotten the anti-fog process figured out with the lenses? They told me they had some bad batches, but after twice getting sent newer better improved lenses, and having them suck, I'm not so sure. Anyway, just planning for the fall/winter time, and I'd like to get my Storm Trooper! mask dialed in, because the thing would be killer, but I can't use it if I can't see out it!!!!

They make anti-fog creme or foam like stuff for paintball masks. I would think it's the same type of mask/lens. I had similar problems with my PB mask and after I applied the stuff correctly (kinda in-depth process) it worked wonders.

Might be worth trying.

Matt,

Save phace mask are really a great product. They will save you alot of pain and misery if you are ever caught in the rain and are running across the lake at high speed. Or if it just plain cold out, no more runny nose or eyes. I too purchased one of there mask when they first came out and had the lens crystalizing issues that many had. But now they have solved that issue and went to a new manufacturer which is making a military grade and anti fogging lens. So all the lens issues are gone! I'll tell you what, here is Jim Neals number (866) 783-3223 ext 3 and you tell him what you experienced and also that
Pro Staffer Jeff Jue told you about this offer. Save Phace will give any one who has purchased a Mask a NEW lens (not the old lens) for free, all you have to do is pay $6.95 for the shipping and handling. How can you beat that? That is a $20 value!

Also if you are interested in a new mask, There Blem Special is edning for good tomorrow Friday the 30th! They will no longer be sold for such a low price! So go to www.savephace.com and look at the Blem Blowout section. You could save alot of money for a mask with a minor flaw. These masks aren't jacked up at all. They still carry the manufacturer warranty. The only thing is paint flaws, such as satin finish instead of gloss! To save money, who cares!

Hope this helps, if you have more questions feel free to e-mail me at jeffjue@tycoelectronics.com

Jeff:

Right on man, thank you for the feedback. I'll definitely reach out to the point of contact you mentioned, and will let them know you sent me.

Thats good to hear...

Yeah, I'm all about the masks...I just haven't been able to see out of it very well!!! Sounds like they've got the issues resolved, and I'm glad to pay for shipping.

The company did have super aloha customer service...so I'm cool with them, just want to get the thing dialed in...cuz I got some big bait fish down South here to chase this fall/winter. I will definitely get some use out of the mask...

Thanks again bud!

Matt, Well glad I could help out and answer your questions. With the new lens you will have no problem seeing out them. I just used my new Inferno mask with yellow lens at Pyramid a couple weeks ago and it was awesome! No fogging at all. Also one thing I did forget to mention is that soon all the new masks will be vented with notches in the foam. You can do this yourself with an old mask. They have a section on there website that describes the procedure.

That is one thing about this company and it makes me proud to represent them, is they have excellent customer service and the customer is #1!

About using a foam for anti fogging. I don't recommend this to any of the old or new lens. It will take off the protective coating that is applied to it. You could ask the rep about it when you talk to him.

Good fishin!
